ATTENTION!

On February 22, 2022 the Town of Florence Town Council performed the final reading and adoption of the 2018 ICC Code set as well as the 2017 NEC and the Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities 2010 Edition; this new code will come into effect April 1, 2022.

In anticipation of this date, we wanted to give a little guidance on our transition process:

• ALL 2012 plans submitted prior to April 1, 2022, will be accepted up to that date.
• If you are preparing a plan for submittal and DO NOT meet the April 1, 2022, date, we will accept it during a 90-day transition period ending July 1, 2022. An extension of additional time will be assessed on an individual basis.
• Residential and Commercial Electrical Contractors, please make sure to review the changes to the NEC code requirements.
• We WILL now start accepting 2018 plans for review effective today

As usual, we will work with each of you to make this transition as easy and economical as we can. Our goal remains to work to make the safest developments possible yet being flexible. As always, if you have any questions, please email or call Community Development.

Additionally, our permit application packets have been updated and we request that you begin using the new packet right away.
